15 Companies That Might Not Survive 2009

Here is a list of Companies that may not survive 2009. It's sad to see all this companies going out of business.
I thought I would get this list for you in case you are into buying stocks.

Rite Aid. (Ticker symbol: RAD; about 100,000 employees; 1-year stock-price decline: 92%)

Claire's Stores. (Privately owned; about 18,000 employees.)

Chrysler. (Privately owned; about 55,000 employees)

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. (DTG; about 7,000 employees; stock down 95%)

Realogy Corp. (Privately owned; about 13,000 employees)

Station Casinos. (Privately owned, about 14,000 employees)

Loehmann's Capital Corp. (Privately owned; about 1,500 employees)

Sbarro. (Privately owned; about 5,500 employees)

Six Flags. (SIX; about 30,000 employees; stock down 84%)

Blockbuster. (BBI; about 60,000 employees; stock down 57%)

Krispy Kreme. (KKD; about 4,000 employees; stock down 50%)

Landry's Restaurants. (LNY; about 17,000 employees; stock down 66%)

Sirius Satellite Radio. (SIRI - parent company; about 1,000 employees; stock down 96%)

Trump Entertainment Resorts Holdings. (TRMP; about 9,500 employees; stock down 94%)

BearingPoint. (BGPT; about 16,000 employees; stock down 21%)

15 companies that might not survive, seems a little underestimating of the situation, perhaps 15 economies that might not survive would be more appropriate at the moment.

That doesn't necessarily mean they are or will go out of business. Stocks don't directly correlate to the companies ability to stay afloat.

That's true but they do indicate something. Any that much of a drop is ridiculous :|.

The list can expand dramatically if you include companies from all around the world....Companies are going bankrupt every single day...and people are getting laid off....just too easily...

I sincerely hope...situation improves...and that too very quickly..

Very true! I am also surprised to see six flags up on that list, i doubt they will go out.

A month and half into 2009 and already 13 banks have failed. Sources say that Bank of America and Citigroup will be gone (via nationalization) by May.

Things are not looking pretty.
