I'm predicting absolutely no change. Maybe higher taxes, possibly make the economy worst, maybe not, maybe he'll be a great president like JFK, I highly doubt he'll make a "GOOD DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT". Everyone loves him JUST BECAUSE EVERYONE HATE BUSH AND DON'T want a new 'Bush' [GOP PRSDNT].

I sort of agree with you. I think he's either going to bring great change, hopefully by making the government smaller and giving the country back to the people, like the founding fathers had origonally intended. OR I think he'll completely screw us.
After hearing McCains speech last night, all I could think about to myself was how badly everyone screwed up by not electing him. His speech sent out a message that he truly wanted to help out this great country of ours and that even though he hasn't been elected, he still wants to help Obama do so. Obama didn't really say much other than stating that blacks finally have a say in this country? I don't see why we had to have a black president in order to finally consider blacks equal. Hopefully everything will turn out well. We can always move up to Canada.

Lucky me, I live in northern USA!
![]() I agree, just because we have a black president doesn't make them have "more rights" ![]() I think if Hillary would've won she would make "equal women rights" [deffinately sarcasm]

I'm predicting a few things.
1. You won't see a huge change immediately because Obama doesn't do things without people's help. Obama won't be running the country for those of you who haven't figured that out. His board of advisors will be. 2. I pray to the good Lord that we don't do universal health care. I have two parters over in the UK. I had a convo with one of them one time asking about universal health care. The government didn't have enough money to hire enough staff and in return people were dying because of how gross the hospitals were. Secondly, when you have universal health care, all of the good doctors head over to the private hospitals to get paid more and in return, all of the crappy doctors stay and treat the poor people. Not a great plan after all ![]() That's my input.

I agree too. I also wouldn't mind paying taxes to the poor, but to homeless people who have the ability to get a job but choose not to and lay back and do drugs & drink alcohol.

Another statement I agree with. There's a difference between being poor and being a lazy b-word.

Yes because people who have a job or two but still cannot afford a house is poor, someone who won't work at all is a bum. I can understand why some cannot afford a home.

I am sure change is there for sure in the offing. I like Bush more because he stood against evil forces like Osama and he will always be remembered as a brave ruler of America. As regarding Obama he does promise a lot of changes and in future his tie-ups with India will be more stronger. In his 15 member advisory panel, he has 4 of Indian origin already.

Obama is Gen X...
Obama as Generation X is taking over from baby-boomer and beat the baby boomer candidate Mr.McCain. Gen-X now rules White House. Significant change will happen soon. Administration style might be different from Mr.Bush

Obama is qualified, plain and simple. His experience is limited, but he made a very smart move electing a VP like Biden who had 30+ years of experience that he can draw and learn from.
As for change, I do think we will see a lot, but I think people who are expecting him to sweep in and solve the countries problems in a 4 year term are sadly deluded. Optimistic, though. :P I think Obama is going to get the ball rolling and help improve many things. I doubt anyone here needs to worry about higher taxes unless one of you makes over $250,000? In that case, yes, you can expect an increase, but the middle class have been paying higher taxes while you have enjoyed tax breaks consistently for the last 8 years. It's someone else's turn now. And it will help stimulate the economy from the Middle Class, which, if Clinton proved anything during his 8 years in the White House, it's what a necessary move that is. The rest of the country flourishes. |

THAT, plus higher taxes on the middle and lower class, a bad economy, and pointless war, and a halfhearted attempt at catch Osama, the man responsible for the most devastating attack on US soil, will be Bush's legacy. And that's why he is keeping his head low now. |

I wouldn't expect much change honestly. I expect more things to be happening though, possitive of course. I mean hes already going the lincoln route of putting all 'enemies' in his cabinate. He wants hilary, and I beleive mccain too.

KW: I cringe to say Obama’s name here. Because if I am not angry enough, I get told that I am kissing up to our duopolist President. So, I guess I will say up front: I would never vote for Obama. He is escalating the War in Afghanistan, and I cannot tolerate that.
That said. The man happens to be in the position of President of the United States. So, I guess it is of interest that he held an on-line, Town Hall meeting. The full text is published at the LA times: here. In scanning some of my favorite third party and alternative news sources, many have not had time to process and respond yet. One interesting happening: Obama said that he would answer the most popular questions. But, when that turned out to be a lot of questions about hemp and marijuana, he played a game. He acknowledged the questions were there, answered one briefly, and, took a joking dig at the on-line audience that would vote marijuana questions up so high. Typical way for a benevolent patriarch to act – acknowledge the concern, so people don’t explode, but mock it so that you can skip over it. |

I think what Obama's doing right now is good seeing how much pressure he's under. The only thing I don't agree with Obama on is his ideas on taxes.
