Google phonebook

Google displays names and phone numbers in its phonebook. However, I am confused whether it needs people's permission to show their info or can it do it without their permission?

Also, do we need to manually submit our info to google or does it include the information automatically?

hi all,

I got a brand new G1, but I've troubles in uploading my phonebook from old phone (sony ericsson k750i) to google contacts. I sent the whole phonebook from sony ericsson mobile to my PC. Here I've a 500kb *.vcf file. Uploading this file in gmail does not work and I tried to convert it with some tools in the internet, but no format was working, to get the names and number into my g1.

can anybody help?
